Broadband - Ocean Bottom Seismograph Net (NA6)

Foster the establishment of the first backbone of European long-term seismic observation system at sea and its integration into Euro-Med seismological infrastructure by poling resources of key marine operators in Europe. The NERIES BBOBS activities are closely coordinated with the initiatives within ESONET. Coordinator: Satish Singh, Institute Physique du Globe Paris (IPGP), France.

OBS A2 deployment area

On May 15, 2007 the Istituto Nazionale di Geophysica e Vulcanologia (INGV) deployed OBS station A2 (left) in the Ionian Sea (see map right) . This is one of the two OBS deployments within NERIES during 2007.

Data
The Alfred-Wegener-Institute for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, Germany, deployed an OBS in the Sardinean sea from December 2006 to December 2007. Raw mini-SEED data from that deployment can be found at the ORFEUS Data Center (ODC).
