Joint Research Activities
Within the Joint Research Activities (JRA) we aim at improving the data services as anticipated in the networking activities to facilitate the use of seismological data in scientific research.
|
JRA1Â |
European seismological reference model |
Develop a European seismological reference model, specifying all relevant parameters (velocities, densities, etc.) on a Euro-Med level. Improve hypocenter location accuracy and the understanding of the crust and upper mantle in the Euro-Med region. |
INGV, ETHZ, UU, IPGP, GFZ, NIEP |
|
JRA2Â |
Real-time hazard tools |
Develop new approaches to time-dependant earthquake hazard assesment and earthquake forecasting in the Euro-Med region. Create a sustainable and community supported platform for testing forecast models. |
ETHZ, GFZ, INGV |
|
JRA3Â |
Shake maps and rapid loss estimation |
Develop the capability to rapidly compute maps of earthquake shaking (shake-maps) and loss estimations for the Euro-Med region. |
KOERI, EMSC, DPC-SAPE,Â
Imperial, NORSAR, ITSAK, ISTÂ |
|
JRA4Â |
Geotechnical site characterization |
Develop reliable low cost tools for geotechnical site characterization. Improve knowledge of recording site conditions throughout the Euro-Med region as a prerequisite for improving hazard and loss estimations. |
LGIT-UJF, ETHZ, UP, DPC-SAPE, ITSAK, FFCULÂ |
|
JRA5Â |
Data mining tools |
Develop new approaches to data mining, data reduction, data exchange and information management in seismology. Create automatic tools to manage and exploit the increasing quantity of data available in real-time. |
