Geotechnical Site Characterization (JRA4)

Develop reliable low-cost tools for geotechnical site characterization. Improve knowledge of recording site conditions throughout the Euro-Med region as a prerequisite for improving hazard and loss estimation. Coordinator: Pierre-Yves Bard, Université Joseph Fourier (UJF-LGIT), Grenoble, France.

In the first year of the project, 20 representative sites of variable geology and topography have been selected on the basis of a compilation of European sites for which reliable geotechnical information was available (see report below).

Site Cerreto. Italy is one of the selected sites to calibrate the different site characterization methods.
